General Pack Information

Parents,

The Midship Watch Cub Pack meets on a Wednesday evening.

Cubs should arrive no earlier than 6:20pm, (unless for planned early activities), as we cannot guarantee any leaders will be present before this time, and if they are, they will be busy setting up for the evenings activities.

Cubs should however have arrived and be ready, coats off, and on the main deck ready for a prompt 6:30pm start.

Parents should be in the foyer ready to collect their children between 7:50pm and 8:00pm.

The Explorer Scouts meet at 8:15pm, by which time we should have vacated the building.

Children need to be collected from within the foyer, as no child will be allowed to leave the HQ, until the parents (not another child), have collected them. They are not allowed to meet their parents in the carpark.

Unless the cubs have been told in writing that coats are not required in the summer months, coats must be worn to every cub night. We may have arranged to take the cubs out for the evening.

The first Wednesday of every month is full uniform night, as well as any Investiture evening, and other dates as required (see program).

The first Wednesday of every month every Sixer needs to attend a Sixers meeting at 6:00pm.

Full uniform is Cub Jumper, Group Scarf, Woggle,  Grey or Black School Trousers (or Skirt for Girls), Dark Socks (Grey, Black, Blue), Black or Brown School Shoes (No Trainers). Scarf to be ironed. All badges to be stitched on correctly, no loose badges. (Girls, if wearing skirts, please bring a set of shorts to change into for the activities).

Other evenings are full smart uniform above the waist only.

Uniform rules also apply to all Leaders, Scouts, and Explorer Scouts.

Shirts to be ironed and tucked into trousers or skirts, shirt buttoned to the neck, Scarves ironed and correctly worn.

Parents are required to inform the leadership of any medical condition their child may have, including allergies, and other conditions (for example dyslexia ).

This includes any temporary condition or injury.

Due to the popularity of the 8th Worthing Sea Scout Group, we have more children on our waiting lists than can be accommodated in the Group.

Therefore it is Group Policy that any child who does not attend for at least 50% of all meetings over a rolling 2 month period, without a suitable reason being notified to the Section Leaders, in advance or on the day will have their membership of the 8th Worthing Sea Scout Group removed from them, and their place will be offered to someone else on the waiting list.
